Taste and See that God is good in your everyday life!

Debbie on the couchI love sharing my heart and humor of who God is in my everyday life.  And I am so thankful to God for giving me the opportunity to share my journal stories, my manna on the radio everyday.

Ten years ago my Aunt Ginger (see "Other Stuff" page) shared with me the importance and blessing of gathering fresh manna everyday and so began my daily time with God in His Word. The One Year Bible and later the Two Year Bible helped me stay focused on God every single day (If you need help getting fed please click on the Bible to the left).  And three years ago I  began  writing down what God said to me in His Word and applying His Truth to my everyday life in a small 3x5 memo notebook which later became my "manna book."  I've now graduated to a larger journal and the Joyce Meyer Everyday Life Bible (where I actually let God direct me in my daily reading). My journal is a place where I write down God's Truth and encouragement and where I reflect and write my stories of how real and evident HE is in my everyday life.  It's so like God to use those the world least expects because who would have thought I could tell a story in only 90 seconds?  I can't express with enough passion how being in God’s Word everyday has changed my life. The other morning I looked up from reading my Bible and said out loud to God, “Do people know what’s in here?  It’s sooooooo good!” It's my great hope that others will also want to “see” God by being in His Word and gathering their own personal, fresh and GOOD manna…everyday.

The Israelites learned that the most important thing they had was God’s Word.  It was God’s daily manna that kept them going
. And when they gathered more than they needed and stored it for the next day they found it to be quite smelly and crawling with maggots.  Not good.   Without my everyday fresh Manna my life (and me in it) starts to stink.  So God provides the perfect amount of what I need each day.  I certainly shouldn’t look to experiences or my emotions to keep me going. I need to walk in obedience and look to God alone for my daily strength and sustenance.

For Moses said to the people Deuteronomy 8: 3; “The Lord your God humbled you and allowed you to hunger and fed you with manna, which you did not know nor did your fathers know, that He might make you recognize and personally know that man does not live by bread only, but man lives by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of the Lord.”  I know that it’s possible to be everything and more through Christ Jesus!

God is my Manna and I will, “Stand by my Manna…everyday!”
