Let me tell you, as I currently and sometimes worked, at our town’s local Mexican Restaurant, I didn’t think that being a Server Girl was part of God’s “Dream Plan” for me. But it is. I didn’t think that getting a DUI, two years ago, would work out with being a Speaker Girl. Yet I have street-cred empathy like never before. Nor did I imagine that a season of debilitating anxiety attacks would help me continue as Radio Girl, writing and recording my feature, Everyday Matters. Yet guess what? It all helped be become better, not bitter. God didn’t just show up, He was there all along with this promise, “My way is perfect. All My promises prove true. I am a shield to those who look to Me for protection.” (Psalm 18:30)
So yeah, I’ve got my eyes on Him. Onward I travel; nationwide, internationally or in my own back yard as an Everyday Saved-Sinner-Girl communicating through speaking, writing and the radio. I can’t wait to connect with you whether through a large audience, small group, one-on-one in person or through media. Wherever, this is the message I bring you, “You’re not alone. You are loved and all messes can be turned into miracles by a loving and powerful Creator. Remember, you’re needed, loved as you are and there’s always hope.” Jesus is the Giver and Fulfiller of your dreams. Let’s live life with passion, bravely moving forward and encouraging one another to live our dreams to the fullest…everyday.thought dreams coming to fruition were given to those who could afford them, to those who had the advantages and not to people, like me, who messed-up, made bad choices or had bad things happen to them. But I guess I didn’t really know God as well as I thought. God is not only a Dream-Giver, but He’s a Dream-Fulfiller. So I gave God my heart and He showed me my dream. The hardest part of living my dream is to trust God when life is messy and especially when I mess-up. Yet, in being honest with who I am (and who I’m not) God is continually showing me that I’m His treasure, not His trouble. God gave me my dream long ago and I’ll always be learning how best to use my gifts and talents, on stage or any other platform, which is my dream- to entertain and inspire! The theatrical, quirky enthusiasm I have for life and people, is about living purposefully and giving to others. My quest as an Everyday Girl, a Wife, Mom, and Communicator is to test and trust the goodness of God in the messy miracle of life. By faith, you’ll come to KNOW too, that God WORKS ALL THINGS FOR THE GOOD, even when you don’t feel or see it. (Romans 8:28) Oh, the freedom you’ll experience when you finally surrender to God, Who knows you and is your Best Fan, Friend and Redeemer. |
It takes courage to step-out and take risks, especially because life is hard, people can be unlovely and you’re scared of the unknown. Maybe you feel that your mistakes and past have ruined you? Move forward anyway, and “do it afraid.” Give as much energy to your dreams as you give to your fears, because God’s got you covered with His Redemption Plan. He uses your brokenness for His beauty to shine through you. You’ll also need to be honest as you take each step. Being vulnerable is a game-changer where you’ll find freedom. You’ll no longer need to pretend you’re someone you’re not. Besides, the real you is the one we’ve been waiting to meet. We need each other to walk and live authentically. But I hear ya, perhaps you’re a mom of babes or teens trying to juggle a million socks of laundry, set boundaries and feed people, or you’re in the middle of a messy marriage or maybe you’re single, stuck with student loans and feeling like no one sees you. God SEES you. In life’s journey you want to be known and loved and Jesus knows you better than anyone and still loves you. He knows me, my pain, my ache from the loved one I lost, the cancer that came to my husband, my anxiety and depression, the lie that spreads and my dream of stardom on Broadway— He knew before I knew. HE IS here, waiting to make creative, redemptive use of what has happened. He is always on the move. He isn’t wasting time thinking about all the trouble He has with you or how awful you feel about where you are and your troubles. God loves you unconditionally. End of story.

Have you ever felt that on your own you have to be stronger, better, different and just pull up your boot straps and kick “this thing” called LIFE?! You may even ask, “Am I a good enough? Yes. When you're trusting in Jesus are you are. Because everything you're not He is. He is always good. In knowing Him in a relationship, as your Savior, He'll make His home in your heart and that's a really good thing. “But shouldn’t I be more like that person on Instagram?” No. You need to be YOU. Your gifts, that no else has, are needed. Let God show you that your identity is in Him, who created and knows your heart. You’re uniquely and wonderfully made for a specific purpose now and into eternity. God’s goodness, strength and grace gives you all you need to step into the dream He gives you. So ask Him, “What kind of "boots" do I need to put on for the road ahead, for the plans You have for me?”
