Everyday Peace
There have been seasons in my life when peace felt impossible. And that’s because I kept waiting for a FEELING of peace, but I recognize now that having peace is a KNOWING that God is faithful and very aware of my condition. God tells us in John 14:27, “Peace, I leave with you. My peace I give you. I don’t give as the world gives. Don’t be troubled or afraid.” God gives peace by assuring us that whatever we’re facing will get better.
I have been a Christian for years, trusting in God’s goodness and yet it still takes me aback when my emotions seem dictate my peace over what I know to be true. So, I say aloud what I know is true, “Debbie it’s not your fault. My peace, from Me, Jesus, is not an absence of difficulty but knowing I will bring you through it.” Those seasons of difficulty are where God has taught me the most about trusting Him. And my challenging seasons are always the ones that enable me to help others. God gives peace and will bring us through…everyday.
