Everyday Anxiety

I hate it. Anxiety. And especially when it seems to consume me and I become frozen and unfocused and I can't move from the couch. So..... I thought I'd share what does help me. You're not alone here.

1) Ask people to pray.

2) Inhale slowly through your nose for 4 seconds, hold your breath for 7 seconds, and exhale slowly through smooched lips for 8 seconds.

3) Do a short burst of exercise, such as jumping jacks, dancing crazy to a good song, or take a brisk walk.

4) Recognize this is just adrenaline, it is uncomfortable but not dangerous, and it will pass.

5) Talk aloud to God (this is called prayer.

And saying what is true will help too like, "God sees me. He's not surprised by my anxiety. He has a plan to use it for the good. This too will pass. God always keeps His promises.” Remember, God does not see you as a problem. He sees you as a person. God loves you…everyday.
