Hearing From GodFriday Matters- October 2, 2020
Everyday Phone Call When I hung up the phone with Grant from J Crew after requesting a refund check I prayed for him because God asked me to. But it was super strange when God asked me to call Grant back to tell him something. What are the odds that I’d get him back? No point arguing with God, so irritated, I waited as I was transferred to the right department of J Crew. My heart beat like crazy when I heard, “This is Grant speaking.” “Ah, yeah, Grant, this is Debbie with the refund check thing and I know this seems strange but when I got off the phone with you God wanted me to call you back and tell you something. I don’t know if you know Christ but He knows you and He wanted you to know right now how very much He loves you.” Grant was stunned but then spoke and said, “You just confirmed something for me.” God wants to let you know too; He loves your right where you’re at, right now…everyday. 10/1/2020
You Are Not AloneThursday Matters- October 1, 2020
Everyday You Are Not Alone Do you feel rejected by a friend or family member? Let me tell you...YOU ARE NOT ALONE. James 5:16 is a verse that is helpful to apply because it says when we confess our own sin, and pray for one another that we will be healed and THEN our prayers will have tremendous power. Most often I need to confess my own sin and hurt of wanting the other person to hurt because they’ve hurt me. We need to pray to see others as God sees them. Let’s stop inserting into your head that sad CD which plays back all the hurtful things caused by broken relationships. When Jesus forgives us He clears us of all unrighteousness. Our righteousness is not based on what we do but by knowing who we are in HIM! He asks us to forgive; not as a rule to earn favor with Him but for the purpose of being set free and reconciled. That’s why He came…everyday. |
